Kazakhstan to auction 26 oil, gas blocks in November
Kazakhstan will auction subsoil use rights for 26 oil and gas blocks through an electronic auction on November 18, 2026, according to EnergyMonitor.
The agency said the auction will be held on the e-Qazyna platform, with applications from prospective subsoil users accepted until October 5, Caliber.Az reports.
The blocks are located in the Kostanay, Aktobe, Kyzylorda, Atyrau, Pavlodar, West Kazakhstan and Ulytau regions.
Oil and gas expert Nurlan Zhumagulov said 24 blocks are being offered for exploration followed by production, while two others — the Aiyrtau-II and Dongeleksor fields — are being auctioned directly for production, bringing the total number of lots to 26.
The previous auction attracted limited business interest. According to Zhumagulov, the Ministry of Energy offered 30 blocks, but applications were submitted for only nine. Bidding for those blocks is scheduled for August 11, 2026.
