Kazakhstan to pursue balanced language policy - president Tokayev
Language and inter-ethnic relations are the most important factors in ensuring internal stability that are closely interconnected.
Therefore, it is unacceptable to turn them into a political tool, Anadolu Agency quotes President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev as saying at the solemn ceremony of presenting state awards and prizes.
According to him, the state language is one of the symbols that unites Kazakhstanis.
“Kazakh language will always be the state language. Our state is taking necessary measures to support the Kazakh language, and we will continue working on it,” Tokayev said.
He noted that language and interethnic relations are closely related factors in ensuring internal stability.
“It is unacceptable to use the Kazakh language for political games. Such mistakes have led to sad consequences in some countries. This is not our way,” Tokayev emphasised.
