Kazakhstan tops happiness ranking in Central Asia

30 October 2025 13:45

Kazakhstan has been ranked the happiest country in Central Asia in the latest World Happiness Report for 2025.

The report highlights that the region's nations, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, have demonstrated some of the highest levels of kindness and mutual assistance globally, Caliber.Az reports per Kazakh media

Despite economic disparities, the countries of Central Asia have consistently shown strong social cohesion and trust, key factors contributing to the overall sense of happiness in the region. The report emphasises that happiness is shaped not only by income levels but also by trust in society, stability, and personal freedom.

The study reveals that the kindness index across Central Asia ranges from 0.30 to 0.36, slightly above the global average of 0.33.

This suggests that the region maintains robust social ties, with collectivism and community involvement remaining central to daily life. Experts point out that these deep-rooted values of mutual support and cooperation help counterbalance economic challenges and gaps in state institutions.

The World Happiness Report concludes that Central Asia continues to offer a "warm social climate," where human kindness and social solidarity play a significant role in fostering a sense of well-being, despite economic and institutional hurdles.
