Kazakhstan, Türkiye sign series of cooperation agreements

Kazakhstan and Türkiye have signed 14 intergovernmental, interagency and international documents on legal assistance, culture, investments, education, television, health and oilfield services, among others.

Members of the official delegations exchanged the following agreements, Caliber.Az reports, citing Akorda.

1. Protocol amending the Treaty between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Türkiye on legal assistance in civil matters (13 June 1995);

2. Agreement between the Government of Kazakhstan and the Government of Türkiye on the establishment, functioning and activities of cultural centres;

3. Agreement between the Government of Kazakhstan and the Government of Türkiye on mutual promotion and protection of investments;

4. Investment agreement between the Government of Kazakhstan and TAV Holding;

5. Memorandum between the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye on the intention to establish a joint “Abai–Akif” programme;

6. Memorandum of intent between the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan and the Turkish Ministry of National Education on opening two schools of the Turkish Maarif Foundation in Kazakhstan;

7. Cooperation memorandum between the Presidential Administration’s Television and Radio Complex of Kazakhstan and Türkiye’s TRT public broadcaster;

8. Cooperation agreement on financing the construction of a multidisciplinary hospital;

9. Cooperation agreement between KazMunayGas and Türkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortaklığı on oilfield services;

10. Memorandum of understanding between KazMunayGas and Türkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortaklığı on joint oil and gas projects;

11. Memorandum of understanding between the Astana International Financial Centre and the Istanbul Financial Centre;

12. Agreement on establishing a joint venture for the production and maintenance of ANKA unmanned aerial vehicles.

During the Turkish president’s state visit, the following additional documents were also signed:

1. Memorandum of understanding on development cooperation between KazAID and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA);

2. Memorandum of understanding between the Astana International Exchange and Borsa Istanbul.
