Khamenei aide dismisses health rumours as "enemy tactic", confirms injury
A senior official in the office of Iran’s Supreme Leader has rejected reports concerning Mojtaba Khamenei’s health as an “enemy tactic”, while confirming that he sustained injuries during a strike on the first day of the war.
Mohsen Qomi, deputy for international communications in the leader’s office, said adversaries were attempting to generate reactions from officials by circulating unverified claims, which could then be used for political purposes, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
“Our most important issue now is to help preserve his life, because he is now God’s representative here,” Qomi said.
He said Khamenei had been present in a building hit during the attack that killed other occupants, but had moved into a courtyard only minutes before the strike occurred.
