Khamenei: Enemy is being punished right now

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on June 20 declared that Israel is facing consequences for its actions, as tensions in the region continue to escalate.

“The Zionist enemy is being punished. It is being punished right now,” Khamenei wrote in a post on the social media platform X, Caliber.Az reports.

The statement comes amid ongoing clashes between Israel and Iran, which started with Israel launching its Operation Rising Lion on June 13. Israel stated that the offensive was a response to Iran’s continued efforts to advance its nuclear programme. 

As part of the operation, the Israeli military targeted several nuclear facilities in Iran and eliminated a number of the country’s leading nuclear scientists.
