Khamenei says Iran “cut off hands” of US, predicts regional shift
Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has issued a statement reflecting on the country’s revolutionary history and outlining its current foreign policy stance, according to a report by Caliber.Az.
In his remarks, Khamenei referenced the 1979 Iranian Revolution, describing it as a turning point that ended foreign influence in Iran.
“Forty-seven years ago, the people of Iran rose up, overthrew the despotic, dictatorial, and dependent Pahlavi regime, cut off the hands of the greedy and arrogant United States in our country, and completely eradicated the influence of Zionism,” he said.
Khamenei also spoke about what he described as growing unity across the Islamic world, linking Iran to allied groups and regions.
“This weapon strengthened the bonds connecting the Islamic ummah and the young fighters of the Resistance Front from Iran to Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, and Syria, from Africa and Yemen to Afghanistan and Pakistan,” he stated.
He called for greater cooperation among Islamic countries, emphasising collective progress and problem-solving.
“I sincerely and with all purity of intention call on all Islamic countries and governments for friendship, cooperation, goodness, and benevolence, so that by working together we move along the path of progress of the Islamic ummah and solving the problems of the Islamic world,” Khamenei said.
The Iranian leader also addressed the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, asserting that regional dynamics are shifting away from U.S. influence.
“What is absolutely certain in this regard is that the hands of the clock will not be turned back, and the peoples and lands of the region will no longer serve as a shield for American bases,” he said.
He added that the United States is expected to lose its strategic foothold in the region over time.
“The United States will not only lose safe locations for its military bases in the region, but will also move further and further away from its former position day by day,” Khamenei stated.
