Kharkiv has come under a large-scale Russian drone attack overnight, triggering several fires across the city, according to RBC-Ukraine, which cited Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.
Terekhov reported that around two dozen explosions were heard within a span of 20 minutes as waves of drones struck different parts of the city. “Several fires have broken out in Kharkiv,” he said, noting that as of now, there is no confirmed information regarding casualties.
According to Syniehubov, one of the fires broke out in the city’s Nemyshliansky district, while the Industrial district also came under attack.
At 23:50, Terekhov updated that, based on data from the city’s Situation Centre, Russian forces launched a total of 25 strikes on Kharkiv during the night, all using Shahed combat drones. Every one of these attacks, he said, was concentrated on the Nemyshliansky district.
Emergency services are continuing to respond to the aftermath of the strikes, as local authorities assess the extent of the damage.
