Krasnoyarsk-Baku flight delayed twice as plane stalls after repair
A flight from Krasnoyarsk to Baku operated by the Russian airline IrAero faced an unexpected delay after the aircraft stalled on the runway following repairs to its air conditioning system.
According to the Krasnoyarsk-based TV channel TVK, Flight IO 473 was initially scheduled to depart at 07:25 local time, per Caliber.Az.
However, passengers were delayed for approximately two hours due to maintenance work on the aircraft. After the repair was completed, they were reboarded, and the plane proceeded to the runway but then stalled.
The airport's press office confirmed to TVK that the aircraft had experienced a technical issue, which was reportedly fixed before departure. At 13:55, the plane was deemed serviceable and began taxiing toward the runway. However, a family of five refused to continue the journey, prompting the aircraft to return.
Ultimately, the flight did take off, but 22 passengers opted not to board after the incident.
