Kremlin blasts Biden administration for escalating Ukraine conflict, backs Trump's peace efforts
The Kremlin has criticized the current US administration, led by President Joe Biden, for exacerbating the conflict in Ukraine, while expressing support for the efforts of US President-elect Donald Trump's team to seek a resolution.
In a statement to journalists, the Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, highlighted the contrast between the rhetoric surrounding Trump's incoming administration and Biden's current policies, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
Peskov noted that members of Trump's team, as well as those nominated for key positions, have expressed interest in a "peace plan" or discussions of peace in relation to Ukraine. In stark contrast, Peskov pointed out, the Biden administration has not made similar remarks, and its actions continue to provoke and escalate the situation.
"Yes, it was possible to see this statement. Indeed, from the circle of Trump supporters and those who have been nominated for positions in the future administration, the word 'peace' or 'peace plan' is heard. No such words are heard from the current administration. And while the provocative, escalating actions continue. This is the reality we are facing," Peskov stated.
