Kremlin comments on start of construction of Bayraktar plant in Ukraine
Russia expects that the development of Türkiye's relations with other countries will not be directed against it.
Spokesman for Russian President Dmitry Peskov said this in a comment on the construction of a factory for Turkish strike drones that kicked off in Ukraine, Kommersant reports.
“Turkey has an absolute right to develop relations with any country, including Ukraine. Of course, as Türkiye's partner, we want to hope that the development of these relations will not be directed against us," the Kremlin spokesman said.
On July 8, Türkiye and Ukraine signed a memorandum on the development of joint production of drones. The CEO of the Turkish company Baykar, Haluk Bayraktar, said that he expects to start producing Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar Akinci drones in Ukraine in 2025.
