Kremlin hints at possible visit by top Trump-affiliated figures
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that US special envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner are expected to visit Russia and would be warmly welcomed.
Peskov made the remarks in response to a question about a possible visit linked to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in June, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“As soon as they are ready — we will be glad to see them, we are indeed waiting for their arrival. As soon as their schedule allows,” Peskov said.
Earlier, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said that US representatives could visit Russia in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Washington is not interested in “fruitless negotiations” but is ready to help facilitate a settlement of the situation around Ukraine. In response, Peskov said: “Call the White House, ask them.”
