Kremlin official says Russia supports China on Taiwan issue
Russian Security Council chief Nikolai Patrushev has met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Moscow.
Mr Patrushev said Moscow supports Beijing on the issues of Taiwan, Xinjiang, Tibet, and Hong Kong, which China considers its territories.
According to Kommersant, the Security Council chief said that the West has launched "a campaign of double deterrence against Russia and China." Against this background, he said, "further deepening of Russian-Chinese coordination and interaction in the international arena is of particular importance."
"In this context, I would like to reiterate our unwavering support for Beijing on the issues of Taiwan, Xinjiang, Tibet, and Hong Kong, which are being used by the West to discredit China," Nikolai Patrushev said.
