Kremlin ready to help prepare peace treaty between Azerbaijan, Armenia

Head of the Fourth CIS Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Denis Gonchar has said that Russia expressed readiness to promote a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“We are ready to continue rendering all possible assistance in the delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the preparation of a peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan through the corresponding trilateral high-level meetings in Russia,” he said, according to TASS.

Gonchar added that these processes, which are sensitive for both countries, require mutually acceptable and long-term solutions.

“We are also preparing meetings between the public representatives and expert communities of the two countries. These important joint efforts are designed to contribute to the creation of an atmosphere of trust in relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Gonchar said.

He added that the initiative of launching the trilateral inter-parliamentary dialogue that was supported at the Sochi summit can also contribute to this process.
