Kremlin: Russia, US working towards peace as Europe "pushes for war"
The Kremlin claimed on April 15 that Russia and the United States are engaged in intensive dialogue aimed at achieving peace in Ukraine while accusing European nations of continuing to fuel the conflict.
“There is currently intense work under way between Moscow and Washington – work being done in the name of peace,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters during a briefing, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“Meanwhile, European countries continue to act in the name of war. They want to support Ukraine in its desire to continue the fighting.”
Furthermore, Peskov condemned recent statements by the European Union’s foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, describing her tone as unconstructive.
Kallas had urged EU member states and candidate countries to boycott Moscow’s upcoming Victory Day parade on May 9, warning of “consequences” for those who defied the recommendation.
“We are paying attention to her very, very harsh statements. We do not consider them appropriate,” Peskov remarked.
