Kremlin says Russia investigating alleged French troops deployment in Ukraine
In response to reports alleging the deployment of French soldiers to Ukraine, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has stated that the information needs to be verified, with Russian security services actively investigating the matter.
According to Kommersant, Peskov highlighted that this development marks a new escalation of tensions, which he attributed to French President Emmanuel Macron's actions.
"We have recently witnessed an unprecedented escalation initiated by the French President, along with the British Foreign Office. It was accompanied by very dangerous rhetoric," Peskov revealed.
Regarding the alleged deployment of French soldiers, Peskov emphasized the need to ascertain the accuracy of the information before drawing any conclusions.
"First, we need to understand to what extent this information corresponds to reality," he noted.
