Kyiv reports attack on space communications facility near Moscow

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has stated that it struck the Dubna space communications centre in Russia’s Moscow region as part of a series of attacks on Russian military infrastructure.

“On June 21 and during the night of June 22, units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine struck Russian targets,” the statement said.

According to the General Staff, “the space communications centre Dubna in the Moscow region was hit. A large-scale smoke emission was observed at the site. The extent of the damage is being clarified.”

Ukrainian forces also reported strikes on a UAV operator training range in the Debaltseve area in the territory of Luhansk region, as well as UAV command posts in the areas of Myrnohrad and Perebudova in Donetsk region.

“In addition, enemy command and observation posts were hit in the area of Ilek-Penkovka in Russia’s Belgorod region and near Pokrovsk in Donetsk region,” the statement said.

The General Staff further stated that an automobile bridge near Vasylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region, which it said is used for troop movements and logistical support of the Russian army, was also struck.

Following additional data analysis, Ukrainian forces said it was confirmed that on June 21 the infrastructure of the Kavkaz port in Russia’s Krasnodar region and two vehicle ferries were also hit. These facilities, according to the statement, are used to support Russian forces in the southern regions of Ukraine.
