Kyrgyz airport halts flights due to thick fog
22 December 2025 09:15
Manas International Airport in Kyrgyzstan has temporarily suspended flight operations due to thick fog and severely reduced visibility, airport authorities said.
Kyrgyzstan International Airports JSC confirmed that 11 flights have been delayed and four others cancelled as weather conditions continue to disrupt operations, Caliber.Az reports via Kyrgyz media.
According to the airport’s press service, visibility at the airfield has dropped to around 400 metres, well below the minimum 800 metres required for safe takeoffs and landings.
Airport officials noted that similar disruptions have occurred in recent days, as persistent fog and low visibility have repeatedly affected the functioning of the country’s main air hub.
