Large smoke cloud seen after air raid alert in Russian city of Perm, witnesses say VIDEO

A large column of black smoke was seen rising over the Russian city of Perm following an air raid alert, according to local witnesses and footage shared on social media.

Video published by the Telegram channel ChP Perm, which is registered with Russia’s media regulator Roskomnadzor, showed a mushroom-shaped cloud forming over the city. The footage was reportedly taken around a residential private housing area.

Witnesses said a fire broke out at an unspecified site, initially producing a white cloud before developing into a thick column of black smoke.

“It is burning very strongly,” the channel wrote in a caption accompanying the video.

Perm is located roughly 2,000 kilometres from Ukraine’s border.
