Lawmaker: Iran to define terms of any agreement itself

Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian parliament’s national security and foreign policy commission, has said Tehran will independently determine the terms of any potential agreements with the United States.

Writing on X, Azizi suggested Iran would approach negotiations strictly on its own conditions, amid ongoing speculation over possible talks between the two sides.

“Cash for cash, delay for delay, nothing for nothing,” he wrote, referencing what he described as issues under discussion in the negotiating process.

Azizi added that his remarks applied only to matters on the agenda of any talks, “not to wishes” attributed to the opposing side.
