“Pezeshkian extended congratulations on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Adha holiday. Both presidents expressed wishes for continued progress, advancement, and prosperity for the two Muslim peoples — Iraq and Iran — and hoped that security, stability, and well-being would prevail in both countries and across the region.
The sides also emphasized the importance of ending war and de-escalating tensions in the region through dialogue and diplomacy, as well as the need to prioritize the language of mutual understanding, which contributes to strengthening security and stability. The importance of unity in the Islamic world and strengthening solidarity among its peoples was also highlighted.
During the conversation, the strong bilateral relations linking the two neighboring countries and their peoples were discussed. The importance of strengthening and developing these ties in various political, economic, and trade fields was reaffirmed in order to serve common interests and expand bilateral cooperation.
President Masoud Pezeshkian extended an official invitation to Amedi to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran with the aim of further strengthening bilateral relations and developing prospects for joint cooperation,” the press service said.
