Lightning kills Armenian contractor

Arkady Hovhannisyan, 25, was killed by a lightning strike in Armenia.

Lightning struck Hovhannisyan when he was doing agricultural work in his yard. A fire also broke out as a result of the lightning strike. The man was rushed to the garrison hospital, but was pronounced dead, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Armenian media.

Investigative journalist Gayane Zargaryan said that the deceased was a contract soldier of the Armenian Armed Forces. The Armenian Defence Ministry has not yet reported the death of its serviceman.
