Lithuanian PM cautions on drone threats along NATO eastern border “This must not become a new reality”
Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė has expressed solidarity with Romania, warning that such incidents should not become a “new normal” for NATO’s eastern flank countries.
“Another drone incursion on NATO’s eastern flank as a result of Russia’s war against Ukraine - this time in Romania, with people wounded. This must not become a new reality that we simply grow accustomed to,” Ruginienė wrote on the social media platform X.
The prime minister called for increased pressure on Russia, continued support for Ukraine, and strengthened defence of NATO’s eastern flank.

We stand in full solidarity with Romania and its people.
Once again,…
Earlier, on the night of May 29, in eastern Romania, a drone struck a residential apartment building, injuring two people.
Since the start of the full-scale war in 2022, cases of drones entering NATO territory have been recorded multiple times, but this incident is described as the first in which a drone damaged a residential building.
