Lithuanian сommissioner proposes deploying Ukrainian battalions in EU
Lithuanian European Commissioner for Defence Andrius Kubilius has suggested that, after the war in Ukraine concludes, Ukrainian military units could be stationed in EU countries bordering Russia to share their combat experience.
Speaking at a conference in Lithuania, Kubilius said that it would be beneficial for the Ukrainian army to be present in border nations, starting with the Baltic states and particularly Lithuania, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
He emphasised that such deployments would work alongside German brigades and rotating American forces, providing an additional layer of security for Europe.
Kubilius repeated concerns previously expressed by the European Commission that Russia could pose a potential threat to Europe within the next four to five years.
