Low-cost carrier AnadoluJet launches Izmir-Baku flights
Low-cost airline AnadoluJet, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines (THY), has started operating flights from Izmir to Baku.
According to THY press service, starting from June 16, flights will be operated three times a week between Adnan Menderes Airport in Izmir and Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Azertag reported.
THY's deputy director general for commercial affairs Kerem Sarp expressed satisfaction with the further strengthening of ties with brotherly Azerbaijan and Türkiye thanks to the new flight.
"We are delighted that the two brotherly nations, which exist as 'one nation, two states', are connected by air to the capital Baku via Istanbul and Ankara, and now through Izmir. In this way we create an opportunity to strengthen commercial and cultural ties and friendly relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan," Kerem Sarp stressed.
