Lufthansa restarts flights to Kazakhstan after suspension
24 February 2026 17:55
German airline Lufthansa will resume regular flights to Kazakhstan beginning March 29, restoring air links that had been suspended late last year.
According to Kazakh media reports cited by Caliber.Az, the carrier plans to operate four weekly flights from Frankfurt to Astana and five weekly flights to Almaty. Passengers will be able to choose between direct routes as well as itineraries that include a stopover in either Almaty or Astana. The services will be operated using Airbus A340-300 aircraft.
Lufthansa halted its flights to Kazakhstan in October 2025, citing a shortage of aircraft and broader logistical challenges.
