Lukashenko dismisses Belarusian ambassador to Poland
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko dismissed Vladimir Chushev from his post as the republic's ambassador to Poland.
The relevant decree was published on Saturday on the National Legal Internet Portal, Interfax informs.
"In accordance with paragraph 20 of Article 84 of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, to release Vladimir Nikolaevich Chushev from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Poland," the document says.
Amid the aggravation of Minsk's relations with Warsaw and Vilnius after the 2020 presidential elections, the Belarusian authorities recalled their ambassadors to Poland and Lithuania for consultations in October of that year. The number of Polish and Lithuanian diplomats working in Belarus has also been reduced. The Belarusian authorities have accused Poland and Lithuania of a destructive position and unfriendly actions against Belarus.
