Lukoil founder enters top three richest Russians

The fortunes of Russia's richest businessmen have increased by $32 billion since the beginning of 2023, according to Bloomberg Billionaires Index, calculated on the basis of the value of the shares of companies.

Lukoil Founder Vagit Alekperov has earned the most among Russians since the start of the year. His fortune increased by $5.9 billion, to $21.3 billion, Bloomberg reports.

Following Alekperov on the indicators of total profit for 2023 is Novolipetsk Steel Board of Directors Chairman and Main Shareholder Vladimir Lisin, who became richer by $4.98 billion, totalling $24.8 billion.

Nornickel President Vladimir Potanin remains the richest Russian. He increased his capital by $1.23 billion and now has a total of $29.8 billion.

The total value of cash assets of Russians, which in 2023 amounted to $309.3 billion, is based on an estimate of the value of dividends, insider transactions, taxes and market conditions.

However, the largest losses were incurred by a member of the Federation Council from the Republic of Dagestan and businessman Suleiman Kerimov, his fortune decreased by $525 million, according to Bloomberg data. In addition to him, losses were also incurred by Roman Abramovich (lost $308 million, total wealth of $7.51 billion) and Vyacheslav Kantor (lost $243 million, total wealth of $6.12 billion).
