LUKOIL strikes deal with Carlyle to sell overseas assets
29 January 2026 11:34
Russian energy giant LUKOIL has reached an agreement with private equity firm Carlyle to sell a portion of its overseas assets, the company announced on January 29.
The deal does not include LUKOIL’s operations in Kazakhstan, which will remain under the company’s ownership and continue to operate under the relevant licences, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
LUKOIL stressed that the agreement is non-exclusive and subject to a number of conditions, including obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals.
This includes clearance from the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) for the transaction with Carlyle.
