Macron dreams of “miatsum”, but Marseille is occupied by rats Shouldn’t Dashnaks be sent to control the city?

28 November 2023 11:49

The French newspaper La Provence has published an article covering the unsanitary situation reigning in schools in France's Marseille city. Caliber.Az translates the piece.

France. Marseille. No sooner had Macron followed the advice of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to give Marseille to Armenians living in France so that they could create another Armenian state there, than the second most populous French city found itself at the centre of a scandal. No, not a corruption scandal yet. Everything is much simpler - Marseille found itself at the mercy of rats. The very real, four-legged rodents.

The French newspaper La Provence writes about this, in particular.

“From La Vista to Malpasset, rodents are invading schools, threatening the health and safety of students. While parents are indignant, the city authorities of Marseille assure that they will soon sort everything out and recommend that complaints be addressed to the leadership of the entire local agglomeration - the “metropolis” of Aix-Marseille-Provence.

Rats have been found in two northern county primary schools. This problem, directly related to unsanitary conditions, has existed in the second-largest city in France for several years. According to available data, there are about one and a half million of them in Marseille, despite attempts to destroy them. We have already seen rats in school: in Saint Barthélemy - 14th arrondissement and Montolive - 12th arrondissement. And last week, rodents reappeared in two primary schools - in Malpass and La Viste. Rats have been seen in the playground, classrooms, cafeteria and toddler dorms.

Since last spring, rats and mice have infested the school's classrooms and hallways in addition to the toilet plumbing failure. According to the president of the association of parents of students at one of the schools, children are forced to walk on the urine and faeces of rats. At another school, the newspaper was told that because of rats, books have to be thrown out, disinfected, and rat feces are even found under the beds of children in dormitories.

A little further down Marathon Street - the same misfortune. The same universal anger.

“Children tell us they see rats in the playground. We had to throw away a lot of sports equipment, including balls because everything was chewed up or soaked in their faeces by rodents. They are everywhere, including in the dining room,” the chairman of the parents’ committee from the Malpasset-Les-Lauriers region is indignant.

Deputy Mayor for Schools Pierre Huguet said: “One million euros worth of work is underway in Malpass as part of a school renovation plan. On the other hand, the situation with garbage in the city has not changed - it’s just a scandal!” In his opinion, the real problem is the uncleanliness of Marseilles streets,” writes La Provence newspaper.

By the way, as we remember, it was in Marseille this summer that Macron met with local Dashnaks. At the meeting, Macron “condemned the blockade” of Karabakh and stated: “On the issue of Karabakh, I am the only one who has a clear position and message. I will continue to make efforts, even if I am almost the only one in the international family who has such an agenda.”

Monsieur Macron, instead of engaging in the mythical “miatsum” and poking his nose into the internal affairs of Azerbaijan, it would be better to engage in pest control of Marseille. Even if you don’t resettle new Armenians there, you will at least make life easier for your fellow citizens and voters who have to live in such unbearable conditions.
