Maduro calls for South American unity to prevent conflict with US
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has announced that his government is working closely with other South American nations to prevent what he described as US attempts to provoke a military conflict in the region.
Speaking to Venezolana de Televisión, Maduro claimed that despite Washington’s official statements denying any plans for intervention, the United States is allegedly preparing for possible military action against Venezuela. He urged regional cooperation to block what he called “the war that the United States wants to unleash in South America," Caliber.Az reports.
According to Maduro, the US administration is seeking to justify potential military operations under the “false pretext” of combating drug trafficking, after failing to accuse Venezuela of developing weapons of mass destruction. The president insisted that Venezuela is “completely free of drug trafficking, coca fields, and cocaine production.”
