Two earthquakes of up to magnitude 5.7 strike Iran’ Updated

Two earthquakes, measuring 5.2 and 5.7 in magnitude, struck Iran’s western Kermanshah province, Mehr news agency reported.

According to the National Seismological Centre, the first earthquake occurred at a depth of 8 kilometres. A second, stronger quake hit the same area several minutes later, with its epicentre located at a depth of 13 kilometres.

No casualties or damage have been reported so far.

A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck Iran's western province of Kermanshah on Monday, according to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).

The EMSC said the earthquake occurred at a depth of approximately 10 kilometers. Its epicentre was located near the cities of Kahrez and Javanrud in western Iran, Caliber.Az reports.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage following the tremor, and local authorities had not issued any emergency updates at the time of reporting.
