Magnitude 4.9 earthquake strikes Türkiye’s Adana province

A magnitude 4.9 earthquake struck the Saimbeyli district of Türkiye’s Adana province at 04:26 local time, according to the country’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
The epicenter of the tremor was recorded in the Saimbeyli area, with the quake originating at a depth of 8.6 kilometers.
“Following the 4.9 magnitude earthquake, which was also felt in the provinces of Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye, Kayseri, and Niğde, no negative consequences have been recorded so far. Damage assessment efforts are ongoing. We extend our best wishes to all citizens affected,” the statement said.
