Majority of Armenians support Kilicdaroglu in Turkish runoff elections VIDEO
The majority of Armenians in the second round of the presidential elections in Türkiye support the candidate from the National Union, the chairman of the opposition Republican People's Party Kemal Kilicdaroglu.
The report came from Haber Global with reference to the results of a survey conducted in Armenia.
Some respondents argued that Kılıçdaroglu takes a more pro-Western stance than incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
However, among the respondents, there were also those who expressed the hope that these elections will be the beginning of the normalisation of relations between Armenia and Türkiye.
“This is a question concerning Türkiye, and any choice made on May 28 will be normal for Armenia,” said one of the poll participants, according to Haber Global.
According to the results of the vote count in the first round of the presidential elections in Türkiye on May 14, Erdogan won 49.51 per cent of the vote, while Kilicdaroglu got 44.88 per cent, Sinan Ogan - 5.17 per cent, and Muharrem Ince - 0.43 per cent.
Since none of the candidates got more than 50 per cent of the votes, Türkiye will hold runoff presidential elections on May 28. Erdogan and Kilicdaroglu will compete for the presidential office.
Meanwhile, on May 22, a candidate from the "Ata" political bloc, Sinan Ogan, announced that he will support Erdogan in the second round of the elections.
