Man arrested at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport attempting to board flight with live grenade
A man was apprehended at Sheremetyevo Airport, in Moscow, when attempting to purchase a ticket to Vladivostok while in possession of a live grenade.
During his arrest, he claimed that the grenade was without a fuse and posed no threat of detonation, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
The security checkpoint was immediately closed, and law enforcement officers, including police, national guardsmen, and bomb disposal experts, were called to the scene.
Upon investigation, they confirmed that the item was a genuine F-1 grenade, though it lacked a detonator—two fuses were found separately.
The grenade was seized, and the man was handed over to authorities for further questioning. He will be required to explain the origins of the grenade and his intentions for carrying it.
