Mass poisoning of young athletes in Russia's Sochi prompts investigation
A mass poisoning incident involving children attending a sporting event in Sochi, Russia has been reported at a local hotel.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office of Krasnodar Krai, the incident occurred in Loo microdistrict, Lazarevsky City District in Sochi, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“It has been established that children aged 10–12, who arrived to participate in a rugby competition, were poisoned at the hotel,” the Prosecutor’s Office confirmed in an official statement.
Authorities have stated that the affected children and their accompanying adults are currently receiving the necessary medical care, and hospitalization has not been required.
The Lazarevsky City District Prosecutor’s Office has launched an official investigation into the circumstances surrounding the mass poisoning.
