Massive Russian attack on Odesa: nearly 50,000 consumers left without power
On the night of October 1 to 2, Russian armed forces massively attacked civilian infrastructure in Ukraine's Odesa region, triggering disruptions in the electricity system, according to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.
Kipper stressed that as of the morning of October 2, 46,600 consumers in Odesa remain temporarily without electricity, Caliber.Az reports per Ukrainian media.
Despite the work of air defence systems, one of the transport infrastructure facilities was damaged, he added.
Power supply disruptions were recorded. In the morning, energy workers were able to restore damaged networks from various sources where technically possible.
In addition, a private house was damaged—its roof and windows were affected—and one person was injured.
Currently, State Emergency Service units are working to eliminate the consequences of the strike.
