Media: Armenia may shut down Karabakh separatists' office in Yerevan
Armenia may shut down or seize the Yerevan representatives office of Karabakh separatists by the end of the year, the newspaper Zhokhovurd writes, citing a source familiar with the situation.
According to the outlet, representatives of the separatist leadership do not rule out the closure of the office and say potential detentions are also possible. They believe the main focus of Armenian law-enforcement agencies is the former leader of the separatists, Samvel Shahramanyan, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
The Investigative Committee announced this week that it is carrying out “necessary investigative actions” within ongoing criminal proceedings, though it has not disclosed further details.
Separatist Nzhdeh Iskandaryan said investigators seized a computer during raids that lasted more than four hours. He previously noted that a court order authorises the Investigative Committee to confiscate documents if required.
