Media: Armenian PM instructs to dismiss Azerbaijani flag arsonist

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has instructed Public Television Company to dismiss the head of the stylistic studio Aram Nikolyan for burning the Azerbaijani flag.

During the solemn ceremony, Nikolyan snatched the Azerbaijani flag from the flag-bearer and set it on fire, after which he fled the stage with it, Armenian Aysor.am website reports, citing sources, according to Caliber.Az.

Later the information went viral that no criminal case would be initiated against Nikolyan.

The Azerbaijani team refused to participate in the competitions due to this vandalism.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Olympic Committee issued a joint statement citing Armenia's failure to ensure security as the reason.
