Media: Finland took no action after spotting Ukrainian drones in its airspace Cited no danger
In the morning of March 29, several drones reportedly entered Finnish airspace, but the Finnish Air Force did not engage them, saying the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) posed no threat, Finnish newspaper Iltalehti reported.
According to the report, no fire was used against the drones to avoid potential collateral damage.
Finnish broadcaster Yle said the objects were moving slowly at low altitude. One drone reportedly fell north of the town of Kouvola, while another crashed to the east. The Finnish Air Force told Yle that it was able to identify one of the drones as a Ukrainian AN-196.
Ukraine has stepped up drone attacks on Russian oil refineries and export routes over recent weeks in an attempt to weaken Russia's war economy and as peace talks, brokered by Washington, have stalled.
