Media: Google restricts new account registrations for Iranian users

Google has restricted the ability of users in Iran to create new accounts, according to Iranian media.

When attempting to register a new account, Iranian users are unable to receive verification codes on their phone numbers.Users are also experiencing difficulties accessing some Google services, including Google Play, Drive and Photos.

Data from an Iranian infrastructure communications company indicate that around one-third of websites worldwide are completely inaccessible to users in Iran due to US sanctions.
