Media: Ilsky Oil Refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar Region on fire after attack PHOTO

The Ilsky Oil Refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar Region was attacked and caught fire overnight, according to an OSINT analysis by ASTRA.

ASTRA readers reported that the attack began around midnight, while local residents said they heard explosions and air-defence activity and saw a fire at the refinery. Reports that an air-raid alert had been activated emerged about two hours later.

An analysis of footage recorded by eyewitnesses indicated that the fire broke out at the A.A. Shamara Ilsky Oil Refinery in the settlement of Ilsky, in the Seversky District, about 50 kilometres from Krasnodar.

The refinery has an annual processing capacity of approximately 6.6 million tonnes of crude oil across six primary processing units. It is one of the major oil-refining facilities in southern Russia, with its products also used to support Russian military needs. Crude supplies are delivered through the Transneft pipeline system.

The Ilsky refinery has been repeatedly targeted by Ukrainian drones. It was last attacked on August 8, when local authorities acknowledged the incident and said six people were injured by falling drone debris.

ASTRA has also reported attacks on the refinery on July 10, June 2, February 17 and January 1, as well as in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
