Media: Iran closes Strait of Hormuz

Iran has reportedly closed the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz following Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon, according to German newspaper Bild.

The newspaper cited reports indicating that warning shots were fired in the vicinity of the narrow waterway, which serves as a critical route for global oil and gas shipments. According to the report, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also issued radio warnings instructing vessels to avoid approaching the strait.

However, Bild noted that there has been no official confirmation from Iranian authorities or international maritime organisations regarding the reported closure.
