Media: Iran prepares massive force for a possible clash with US troops

Iran has mobilised a large number of forces in preparation for a potential ground confrontation with the United States, according to a report by Tasnim news agency citing an informed source.

“More than one million Iranian fighters have been mobilised for ground confrontation with American forces,” the report said, citing the source.

The development comes amid reports that US President Donald Trump is considering deploying ground troops to seize Iran’s Kharg Island, a key oil export hub.

However, according to Reuters, analysts warn that such an operation would expose US forces to significant risks and could prolong the conflict rather than bring a swift resolution. Experts suggest that while US forces might be able to capture the island relatively quickly, doing so would not necessarily achieve the rapid and decisive end to the war that the US administration is seeking.

Instead, they argue, a ground assault on Kharg Island could lead to an extended military engagement rather than a clear-cut victory.
