Media: Iranian Basij military group chief killed in US-Israeli strikes

Asadollah Badfar, head of the Basij at Iran's armed forces general staff, has reportedly been killed in joint US-Israeli strikes on Iranian targets.

Badfar previously served as head of the Basij secretariat at the armed forces general staff. While Iranian authorities have not officially confirmed his death, a funeral for the senior commander was held in the holy city of Qom on March 9, Iran International reports.

The Basij is a volunteer paramilitary force under the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
