Media: Israeli state plane arrives in Germany Amid Iran strikes
Following strikes on Iran, Israeli authorities have sent a government Boeing 767, known as the “Wing of Zion,” to Berlin, according to a reporter at the German press agency, DPA, dpa, who said they saw the craft at the tarmac.
The aircraft, used for flights by the Prime Minister and President of Israel, is reportedly parked at Berlin’s airport. Officials at the airport and the Israeli embassy have not commented on the situation.
DPA notes that during previous escalations in the Middle East, Israel has moved the plane abroad to avoid potential attacks. According to Flightradar, the aircraft departed Israel on February 28 around 16:00 Baku time, circled over the Mediterranean for several hours, and then proceeded to Berlin.
U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran continued for a second day on March 1 after the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. There were explosions in Tehran today as Israel said it was taking its attacks to the “heart” of Iran’s capital.
