Media: Kazakh authorities to award Armenian PM for Zangezur Corridor
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will be awarded Kazakhstan's prestigious Altyn Kiran (Golden Eagle) Order, the country's highest state honour for foreigners, according to the Hraparak paper.
The paper notes that the award recognises Pashinyan's contributions to strengthening cooperation between Turkic states and his role in the agreement to open the Zangezur Corridor, a crucial trade route connecting Türkiye with Central Asia.
The announcement comes ahead of the upcoming summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) member states in Astana, Kazakhstan's capital. On the same day, foreign ministers from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will also meet, followed by a session of heads of state, which will include the attendance of Pashinyan. The award ceremony will take place during these high-level diplomatic events.
The Altyn Kiran Order is awarded for exceptional state services rendered to Kazakhstan.
