Media: Mossad set up drone base inside Iran ahead of strikes
A security source has revealed that Mossad established a covert drone base near Tehran long before launching a large-scale, overnight operation deep inside Iranian territory. The explosive-laden drones were activated on the night between June 12 and 13.
According to the source, Israel’s operation, codenamed “Am Kalavi,” involved extensive coordination between the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), the Mossad, and Israeli defence industries, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ynet.
The source claimed that the campaign was years in the making, involving detailed intelligence gathering and the quiet deployment of operational systems across central Iran.
The operation was carried out across three main axes:
Precision weapon deployment: Mossad commando units reportedly planted guided missile systems in open areas near Iranian surface-to-air missile (SAM) sites. These weapons were triggered during the attack, striking targets with high accuracy.
Vehicle-based attacks: Advanced strike systems hidden in vehicles smuggled into Iran over time were activated in parallel. These systems targeted Iran’s air defence infrastructure, allegedly neutralising it to ensure Israeli aircraft could operate freely.
Internal drone strikes: The Mossad drone base near Tehran played a central role, with unmanned aerial systems launched at the Espajabad missile base. The drones specifically targeted ground-to-ground missile systems that Israeli officials say posed a direct threat.
The operation also included targeted assassinations of senior Iranian security officials and nuclear scientists, enabled by joint IDF-Mossad intelligence dossiers.
