Media: Pakistan delivers new proposals to Iran on US talks
Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir has delivered new proposals to Iran concerning potential negotiations with the United States, according to TASS, citing Iran’s Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali.
Jalali said Tehran is currently reviewing the initiatives and maintaining active communication with Islamabad as discussions continue.
“In recent days, after the arrival in Tehran of the commander of Pakistan’s army as a mediator, new proposals have been put forward, which we are now studying and exchanging messages about,” he said.
The remarks were made during a regular round of consultations on international activities and regional security held in Moscow at the level of deputy foreign ministers of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
Munir had earlier visited Iran on April 16, where he held meetings with the country’s military and political leadership.
