Media: Russia deploys African mercenaries as suicide assault troops on frontline PHOTO
The Russian army is using African mercenaries as expendable assault fighters in eastern Ukraine.
In recent days, Ukrainian soldiers and drone footage have published videos showing Black fighters in Russian uniforms advancing on the front line and almost always being killed, according to the BILD Telegram channel.
In one incident, a Russian soldier filmed an African man named Francis with a Soviet-made TM-62 anti-tank mine strapped to his body, while threatening him with an assault rifle and forcing him to move in an unknown direction.

Ukrainian forces also questioned a captured Ugandan citizen, who said he had been promised a “well-paid job” in Russia but was later forced at gunpoint to sign a military contract after arriving in the country. “They took us to a forest. I escaped at night and reached Ukrainian soldiers,” he said.
Experts note that some Africans may have travelled to Russia knowingly, hoping to earn money by taking part in the war.
